Gail Gudani Butingan and Jeremy Blake Asmus
Gail
Gail is the only daughter of Cion and Bert Butingan. She was born on August 8, 1980 in Long Beach, California. Quickly after birth, Cion and Bert moved to San Diego to raise their two children. Gail has an older brother, Bryant, and despite their six years age difference as well as all the fighting and taunting while growing up, they remain very close. While her mom worked long hours at the hospital and her dad served in the Navy, Gail's early years were spent with her "Nanay" (grandma) and three aunts. At the age of seven, Gail's mom enrolled her in various dance classes to help overcome her shyness. She performed Hawaiian dancing and Filipino folk dancing with a San Diego Performing Arts Dance Company for ten years. She was also a very active student, as she was the editor of the high school newspaper, sweetheart's princess, on the homecoming court, and a cheerleader for four years. Gail later attended the University of California, Riverside where she obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Sociology. Upon graduating from college, she moved back to San Diego and began working in the workers' compensation legal field. She has been working as an assistant for seven years, and currently works for the managing attorney at a San Diego law firm.
Jeremy
Jeremy is the oldest son of Marci Souther and Mark Asmus. He was born on March 16, 1980 in Escondido, California. Jeremy grew up in Valley Center where he spent endless hours building forts in the brush and playing throughout the orange and avocado groves that fill this very rural town. His younger brother Kyle, four years younger, was always playing by his side and they have been extremely close ever since. At 18, Jeremy moved to La Jolla and then Mira Mesa while attending the University of California, San Diego where he obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Interdisciplinary Computing and The Arts along with a minor in Human Development. As soon as Jeremy graduated, he began working a variety of jobs. From coffee shops, restaurants and retail clothing stores, to a sign advertising company as well as an internship for Nissan Design America, he has had the opportunity to grow and learn while making great friends along the way. Jeremy has specialized in web design and development for the past four years and currently works for ESET, an antivirus software company in San Diego as a web designer of marketing communications.
